Akhiok (Kodiak)

After Old Harbor we flew back to the city of Kodiak and then on to the southern part of the island to a village called Akhiok. We chartered a little Islander plane from Island Air.

This is Buster. He’s Gary Jr.’s (GJ) dog. GJ helped us bring gear up to the site way up on the ridge above town. Buster followed GJ everywhere. He’s following us to the airport in this photo. I think Buster ran more than a marathon on this first day.
